Birthday functions are the most varied bookings the hall takes. A first birthday with sixty relatives looks nothing like a sixtieth with three hundred, and a children’s party has a completely different set of needs from either. What they share is that the family wants space without paying for a wedding-scale venue.
The main hall does not have to be used at its full 500-seat capacity. Set out the seating you actually need at one end, keep the cake table and the decorations near the stage, and leave the rest of the polished floor open for children to run about on — indoors, air conditioned, and off the road.
For older guests that same air conditioning is what turns a long afternoon into a comfortable one. The dining hall next door handles the meal separately, so the celebration area is never being cleared while people are still enjoying it.

Ways to Use the Hall
Two very different birthdays, one venue
First birthdays and children’s parties
For a first birthday the family usually wants the ceremony portion — the blessing, the cake, the photographs with each set of relatives — followed by a proper lunch. Keep the seating tight around the stage so the elders are close to the child, and leave the far end of the hall open for the children who have come along. Decorators can work in the hall from the morning, and balloons and backdrops go up against the stage wall.

Traditional First Birthday Rituals
A first birthday often involves traditional ceremonies, Ayush Homam, and elders blessing the child with a shawl or gifts. For these functions, the hall works best laid out with seating close to the stage so family can participate in the rituals, and the dining hall opened as soon as the main ceremonies are done. Rooms on site give the family somewhere quiet to rest and change the child's attire between the rituals and the cake cutting.
